Furniture For Your Home, And Your Future
When it comes to furnishing your home, it’s more than just choosing pieces that fit your current style. It’s about creating a space that evolves
Your Bedroom is your sanctuary, it’s your hibernation station, the place you spend the most time in your home, even though you probably don’t appreciate that.
This is where we spend a third of our life, sleeping, resting, recuperating. It’s a place completely set aside to prepare us to rejoin the world. It’s only purpose is to provide respite for us… so why don’t we focus on ensuring it’s fully geared towards this task?
We turn again towards the art of Hygge, a whole methodology so in tune with comfort and rest, it’s almost a wonder why anyone wouldn’t want to Hyggefy their bedroom.
Firstly and quite importantly before we can change, we need to organise, and sort the room, begone clutter! Yes it’s a pain to sort through things initially, but once it’s done, wow you can breathe.
This is where clever storage solutions come in, large chests, and blanket boxes, can store vast quantities of things, and they also provide you with raised storage areas to use as dressing tables, or just an additional accessible shelf.
It’s not always possible to use a chest, so a Tallboy is a great option, the increased height gives some geometric contrast to the room, whilst also ensuring that, despite choosing a smaller unit, you’re definitely not compromising on space.
Next, we layer up with texture, now we’ve created all that space, we need to build up from clean to cosy. This is where cushions, and rugs are fantastic, the contrasting fabrics really let your senses know this is a place to let your guard down and rest.
Again this is why wood goes so well, its a rougher, more natural look, and yet it is reliable and firm. Bringing nature inside helps us to switch off from the real world, which Is why pairing nice simple house plants, really help, not only the air quality, but your soul.
Remember, the real secret to Hygge is to keep the clutter to a minimum, and allow your accessories to really set the tone. This room is a terminal, its the connecting flight from the real world, to recovery, and, the best way to make your body happy, is to build your bedroom the Danish way.
in addition I think the most important thing to remember when considering your bedroom is, it’s your private room, this space is not communal. It’s only ever supposed to suit the sleeping needs of an individual or a couple. So really let yourselves loose on the idea of maximum Hygge, minimum stress.
