Your bedroom is a place of rest and relaxation, somewhere you return at the end of a day and wake up to first thing in the morning so getting it just how you want it is important. Being happy with your bedroom can mean a lot of changes and there are times when there’s always something else you can add but if it’s a small room it’s very hard to do this and still have the space you need to do things.

We’ve been thinking about the challenges of how to decorate a small bedroom and have got some tips to help you make the most of every single inch of space you have available.

What do you need?

This is the first question to answer when decorating any room. Make a list of the essentials you need in your bedroom and then the things you would like to have after that. Put them in a list from most important to least important and that gives you something to work from. You can find a great range of wooden bedroom furniture with us at Casa Bella including beds, bedside tables, dressers and chests of drawers but you will also want to look at things like wardrobes too.

Pick the right colour

You might not think that picking a colour is very important but if you use a light colour scheme it can make a small room feel much bigger than it is. It won’t change where you put things, or how much furniture you should have but it will make a big difference when you walk in and feel like the room is as spacious as possible.

The layout is important

You still need to be able to move about so filling up a small bedroom with furniture and belongings isn’t easy. You need to plan where things will go and assign space to each. The important part of a bedroom is the bed so find one that you like and make it the centre of your plans. The Mandir Sheesham Super Kingsize Bed and Dakota Mango Double Bed are two of our favourites and give you a platform to work from when choosing the rest of your furniture and where it should go.

Build around the bed

If the bed is the most important thing in your room then everything else you choose should fit in with it and our range of wooden bedroom furniture can help. The Tenali Mango Bedside Table is perfect to go next to your bed for anything you need to keep close by and the Dakota Mango Large Dresser has enough storage for clothes and anything else you want to keep safe and secure.

Try to keep your window free of clutter so as much light shines through as possible and if you need or want a desk in the room, a space for this near the window can be a big advantage. It all comes down to the list you make and deciding what you need before working out where is best. Don’t just stick to one plan, try out different layouts until you get it right.
