What is it about the Mediterranean Style that captivates us with it's romance. Is it the language, the food, the people or the architecture, which captures our hearts.

After a somewhat substandard summer, it's only natural we look to capture some of the beauty of where we went on holiday. A way of holding on to some of the magic to get us through the long winter nights.

What is it about the Mediterranean that takes us from windswept, raining, brick covered Britain, to a fantastical land of whitewashed walls. A myriad of sleepy cobbled streets and languages more akin to song?

Firstly it's important to remember that the term Mediterranean is such a generalisation, that it can't really begin to encapsulate a whole cornucopia of cultures. What it does do however, is capture an enviable identity. Whilst heavily varied across the Mediterranean coast, creates the most wonderful aura.

So what is Mediterranean styling? It's a blend of wood against stone, it's secret lying in its honest simplicity. With a colour palette found mostly in nature, its a gentle mix of whites, blues and earthen tones. All this reflects the sea, sky and beaches of the region.

One major factor of the Mediterranean lifestyle, synonymous with its style, is the blending of indoor and outdoors. It's a far more harmonious relationship between the two areas of the home. However it's not always possible to take full advantage of outdoor spaces with the often unreliable British weather.

This is why we focus on bringing the outdoors, inside. This combination of wood, against earthen terracotta and neutral stones are perfect for creating a warm, yet peaceful environment.

Similarly to Scandi styles, it's all about creating a neutral foundation from which you can build personality. Within the unobtrusive, natural tones we have the opportunity to add flourishes of personality. This is where the contrast between the warm tones of Greek and Italian styles contrast with the vibrance of Spanish and Moroccan aesthetics.
