Often the most underutilised room in the house, the dining room often takes up far more square foot than is acceptable. We here at Casa Bella, think that needs to change.

Often our earliest association with a dining room is those long Family dinners, like those big Christmas gatherings. Whilst they start off magical and fun, it soon becomes uncomfortable and hard work. Often this is tied to the awkward shape of tables, or the upright rigidity of the traditional dining chair.

This is why we are here to remind you of a few important points about dining rooms, why they deserve attention, and why we shouldn't relegate them to just, that room we go in 4 times a year.

You see, the dining table in many cultures is the feast hall. It's the place for gathering, sharing and entertaining guests, kith and kin.

A Dining Room is for Life, not just for Christmas

However, in more recent times, we tend to only give as much interest to dining tables we encounter when we are out in the real world.

Why is this? Why do we continue to get excited by the prospect of dining away from home? Is it through childhood memories of being forced to stay a the dining table, often long past dining?

Dining at home is both an intimate, and special experience. We might not feel that way because we are numb to the beauty of it. However it is the most flexible and adaptable place we can dine. Where else can we lounge over a bowl of noodles? Or tenderly create a masterpiece of a roast dinner?

At home, there are no reservations, no queues. At home you are in full control of the timeline, the place-setting, and of course, the menu. So give some love back to your dining room, it's for life, not just for Christmas.
