Originating in Australia and spawning over a thousand varieties across Africa, Asia and the Pacific Coast, Acacia wood is a truly beautiful hardwood. Notable is its reddish brown tones with dark veins running through, it creates a very striking, yet natural presence.
Considering it's one of the strongest and most resilient hardwoods found in common usage for furniture, unlike some of its contemporaries, Acacia wood is also very sustainable. Being fast growing, uncommon for such a hardwood, and requiring the most basic of soils, nutrition and no assistance. They're a fantastic source of lumber.
This is doubly true as they're a great vessel for locking in carbon for a long time. Meaning that furniture that will last generations becomes great furniture not only in its looks, but in its carbon offsetting.
With such a fantastic tabletop created by this wood, we realised that there's no point in trying to vary from the already iconic natural edges. Edges which we have purposefully left to the best designer available, Mother Nature. With its live feel as they avoid uniformity and straight edges, opting instead for a curved feel, that appears like the table grew into being.
By virtue of their high ranking within the hardwood category, they are not only incredibly sturdy and reassuringly weighty. They are also deeply resilient, both to wear and tear. Specifically making them highly durable to moisture and other things normally damaging to wood.
With such a good wood in mind, and relying on the natural design aspects to create an exquisite tabletop how do you create a full range? That's how we decided to focus on variances in the table legs, rather than the table top, aside from table length, we rely on a variety of legs.
With shapes from traditional corner legs, to end leg pieces and a central spider, there're so many variations it appears like a range that has no limit in variety. Not only that, but paired with the variety of chairs from our Burlington, Cleveland and Hudson editions. This makes this a incredibly beautiful and diverse range.
