Introducing Oslo Dark Mango. After a successful launch, we thought we'd give a proper introduction to the newest member of our flagship Oslo Range.
The Oslo range, with its classic Scandi design, of tapered slender legs, retro handles and minimal design has proved to be a firm favourite. With the introduction of the Honey Oslo Range last year proving a resounding success. We have continued to offer more choice within the range by launching the luxurious Walnut Stain of the Oslo Dark.
Dark stained furniture is a great statement piece. In cosy, more mature surroundings, it can create warmth and an comforting environment. However in large open homes its a commanding presence. This is because it offers layers to it's darkness against both natural and interior lighting.
Dark furniture is a commanding presence, one that even the most daring of reclaimed pieces can't hold. It's reminiscent of mahogany, that wood which conjures up feelings of wealth and sophistication. Yet when done with Mango wood, not only is the majesty offset by the sustainability, but the price is surprisingly affordable.
Make A Statement
Once thought to be a style reserved for Victorian homes and Cotswold Cottages, Dark furniture is truly making a comeback. After realising that it's the style of the furniture, not the colour, which holds it back from creating the right aesthetic.
The first thing to note about darker furniture is that they can match almost any theme, specifically more daring colours. Using a piece from the Oslo Dark Range, you can anchor a rooms hue whilst allowing your accessories to experiment. Using plenty of green with house plants, or oranges and yellows in soft furnishings. This striking contrast between splashes of colour against a bold, definitive piece of wood creates a sense of purpose in your theme.
It's also about future proofing your home. As darker colours match with a greater spectrum of colour, it allows you more freedom to to experiment with different accessories, or wall colour.
By bringing back darker styles with a modern twist, we allow our homes to adopt a timeless appearance. this remains as luxurious, as it is practical.
Our advice is to use this as an opportunity to combine the modern pieces, with your heirloom statement pieces. Create a mix of inherited and descendant furnishings and make a point. Optimise your lighting, and opt for bright or white walls to maximise the apparent size of your space whilst allowing the Oslo Dark range to anchor it. Above all else, don't be afraid to experiment.
